ACTOR

After graduating from the CalArts acting program, Magyar earned critical praise and awards for his candid portrayal of “X” in the feature film, BOY CULTURE. He continued acting in such films as Lionsgate thriller, TRAIN, opposite Thora Birch, directed by HOMELAND and TYRANT creator, Gideon Raff. He then went to work on FENCEWALKERS, directed by “X-FILES” creator, Chris Carter, alongside co-stars, Mehcad Brooks, Katie Cassidy and Natalie Dormer. Magyar also starred opposite Luke Evans in Pathe and Anchor Bay’s Horror film, NO ONE LIVES. He later starred alongside Ed Harris, David Duchovney and William Fichtner in PHANTOM, directed by Todd Robinson. Magyar also appears in the feature film, THRESHOLD, produced by LAKESHORE ENTERTAINMENT and released by Sony Pictures, starring alongside Trilby Glover and Randy Wayne. Some of his television credits in front of the camera include a recurring role on CSI, Criminal Minds, a multi-episode arc on Medium, Boston Legal, StrikeBack, TNT’S pilot episode of Major Crimes, and probably of most note, portraying Commander Kelby on the final season of Star Trek, opposite Scott Bakula.

In 2019, Magyar reprised his role of “X” in the television adaption of Boy Culture, shooting 6 episodes for release in 2020.
